Dancing Brick/ SPINNING at the Milton Keynes International festival 2010
Milton Keynes-based theatre company Dancing Brick perform Spinning, a moving and humorous tale about a young woman who sees a man at a traffic light. Before they have the chance to speak the lights turn green and he is gone. Enraptured, she pedals on and on in earnest search, travelling over mountains and under seas, up to the moon and back down to earth until at last, and having cycled around the world, she arrives back where she started. Created in collaboration with the illustrator Serge Seidlitz, Spinning is a live cartoon - a boldly visual, highly inventive trompe loeil that uses whirring mechanics, contemporary puppetry and striking illustrations to tell this bitter-sweet love story.

"Stay at home, pop a cork, this is the best thing to come out of Iceland since Bjork" - I made this short film for the folks at Offset in Dublin this week as I couldn't be there in person due to the massive cloud of Volcanic ash - (or was it a swarm of bees ?) Thanks to Vanessa Whyte for helping with the filming, and to Tom Rosental for the use of his amazing song WATCH IT HERE
